There are many things to look for when choosing a hotel: does it have a sea view? Is the room luxurious? Is it likely to melt before the morning? Wait… what?

Yes, nestled deep in the Romania’s Fagaras Mountains is the Ice Hotel – hewn each year from the frozen water of Balea Lake by local craftsmen using age old techniques.

We’ll fly our intrepid winner plus their equally adventurous partner/friend into the heart of Bucharest, they’ll visit Dracula’s Castle* in Transylvania, and spend a night in the fabulous and surprisingly cosy Ice Hotel.
